Μπράβο στον Alan Martin και αυτούς που τον στήριξαν, για να μπορέσουν κάποιοι συνάνθρωποί μας να χαρούν την ζωή τους λίγο παραπάνω!

Alan Martin, company founder, started work on the project that led to the creation of The Conquest when his son, an outgoing and sporting young man, became disabled.

Alan's concept progressed through the classical stages of new product development. As early stage prototypes were created, based on the initial scale models, the project attracted considerable interest.

Initial funding included support from Sir Frank Williams, the Principal of the BMW-Williams Formula 1 Team, and from Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.

The project also won support from the Manchester Business School Incubator. The Incubator has assisted with early commercialisation of The Conquest and has drawn on its own resources, the broader resources available within the Manchester Business School and the support of its sponsors and partners, including The Royal Bank of Scotland, NM Rothschild and Addleshaw Goddard.

Private investors have provided funding to enable the manufacture of pre-production vehicles and to carry out a full programme of road and track testing.

The Conquest is protected by patent.

The National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) has worked closely with the company as The Conquest developed. The NABD is the UK's leading organisation for disabled motorcyclists. Its many activities include campaigning on behalf of the disabled motorcyclist, providing financial assistance for motorcycle conversions and conducting tests and assessments for the disabled motorcyclist. The NABD provides a focal point for inputting to Government policy on disabled motorcycling issues and is very active in raising public awareness of the needs of the disabled motorcyclist.

Much of the vehicle-testing programme has been carried out at The Leyland Technical Centre's test track at Leyland. Martin Conquest is grateful for the support from the company and its staff.
