Externally, the bike does not shine by their design, and the cycle is conventional cast aluminum chassis, conventional fork, rear monoshock horizontally under the engine, alloy wheels 17-inch disc brakes and three-lobed, with clips of semimonoblock -the four-piston front. Technically it is a cross between a scooter and bike, upright, fully faired and booster seat. Under its plastic chassis hides a Tmax, a single-cylinder engine Yamaha Majesty 250-4T, LC, 4V, IE, 249 cc, an electric thruster, a battery pack and electronic circuitry that controls everything. There is no cavity under the seat to keep even a pair of gloves ...
The electric motor is integrated into the crankcase-tilting, and its force is transmitted through a planetary gears system similar to that used in the Toyota Prius car. To recharge the batteries also recharge that can provide the internal combustion engine generator, the HV-X has a braking system with kinetic energy recovery (KERS). The electronics that governs the system has been fully developed by Yamaha, and there is technology borrowed from Toyota and its Prius.

Under the passenger seat, we found the fuel tank of gasoline internal combustion engine, under the pilot find the charger in the false fuel tank integrating the system controller and battery beneath it lies the pack of lithium ion batteries.

In early tests, the HV-X has managed to halve the fuel consumption of the Majesty 250, so we can talk about just over 2 l/100 km, with the power of a 400cc scooter. The electric propulsion is from the first blow of gas, but when it exceeds a certain speed or the throttle is applied further, then automatically starts the combustion engine. The power of the electric motor depending on the brand is 20 hp, which added to the 250 cc engine gives a total of 31 hp. The top speed achieved is about 120 km / h, and although no date has been set for autonomy, I am sure she will be around 240 km.
