Thanks for the info. That seems to echo what one of my local buddies has. My goal would be to coordinate to the helmet via Bluetooth a Zumo 665 (which would often be playing a buttload of MP3s from a 32Gb MicroSD card), my iPhone and a 2m/70cm rig of some sort, be it my current Wouxun HT or something else. Any experience with pilot/passenger intercom accomodations with that setup?
Yep, with the Sena SMH10 + SR10 + Wouxun radio, you'll be all setup to reach your goal.

In your case, the Zumo 665 will be BT into the Sena SMH10 using the main HFP for Navigation & phone audio and A2DP (stereo) for MP3's. Your iPhone will be BT into the Zumo 665 which should give you control of the phone via the GPS and obviously take and answer calls.

The Sena SR10 will be connected to the SMH10 via the 2nd HFP connection (called Multipoint pairing) and then of course any audio from your desired Ham Radio will come through the SR10 and into your Sena SMH10.

So all the above will work fine as long as you don't plan on listening to MP3/music from your phone and only BT it into the Zumo for phone conversations. The Zumo 660/665 hogs both the HFP & A2DP connections on the SMH10 so people who try to connect a phone for music run into issues as the phone and Zumo fight over the same A2DP connection. The go around for those people is to hardwire their Zumo 660/665 to the SR10 which forces all audio through the audio port and eliminates the BT issue and then their phone/music can be connect to the main SMH10 headset with no issues. The Sena SR10 is mono only BTW, so don't get the idea of pumping music through the SR10.

For your passenger, all they need is another SMH10 headset and you guys can have intercom conversations over BT. If they are always a passenger only, you could get them the SMH5 which has a cheaper price but at the cost of less range and a smaller battery, but still works just as well. She SMH10 & SMH5 play nice together.

Your riding partner can then have their own music BT into their headset via a smart phone or what ever they choose to get their music from. Be aware of a common misconception though about sharing BT music. Your riding partner cannont share your music off the Zumo 665 via BT. BT is a one to one connection so you can't share connections. However if this was a deal killer and you absolutely had to share music, you would need to add in one more device, the SM10 which is a BT stereo hub and supports 2 A2DP profiles at the same time so you can both connect to it. It's main feature is to allow 1 music source to be shared between 2 headsets. In this case however, your Zumo 665 would be hard wired to the SM10 meaning all audio (navigation & music) would be coming over that BT stereo connection. A2DP is a one way connection, so at this point it would do no good to have your phone BT to the Zumo. So you would be back to connecting your phone directly to the SMH10 in order to take & receive calls.

Confused yet? http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/icon10.gif http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/lol8.gif

Break down of Sena devices:
  • Sena SMH10 - BT headset with longest range & good battery life. Have the option for a mount that allows ear bud connection. Supports multipoint pairing. Supports 4 way intercom conversations too.
  • Sena SMH5 - BT headset with shorter range and less battery life than the SMH10. Doesn't use a removable mount like the SMH10. I think it supports Multipoint pairing too.
  • Sena SR10 - BT hub that connects via HFP connnection (mono). Allows a 2 way radio to be BT into your Sena SMH10/5 headset with PPT support plus support for other devices. Has its own HFP connection for another BT device (2nd phone), Also supports 2 wired aux inputs with 3.5mm plugs. (Phone, GPS, radar detector, etc)
  • Sena SM10 - BT hub that connects via A2DP connection (stereo). Allows 2 Sena SMH10/SMH5 headsets to share the same music source by simultaneously sharing out 2 different A2DP profiles. Has one 3.5mm hardwire Aux port that supports stereo music and has a 2nd Aux 3.5mm input that supports mono connection only. Doesn't allow a "music source" to be BT in. It must be hardwired in via 3.5mm audio cable.
  • Με την λογικη οτι τα κινεζικα ειναι αντιγραφη των Sena νομιζω με λιγο περισσοτερο ψαξιμω θα γινει δουλειά.
