3 Mar. 2012 "Devil's Bridge - Tower Pandolfina - Nature Reserve Monte Genuardo and Santa Maria del Bosco"

Hi Guys
Today .. we spent a really nice day on the road. A surprise of John Barry (EN), which knew only on the web that has been done and 170 to 140 km leg back to join our tour! The day began at 09.00 Roccamena headed for a brief stop to let your friends know Calatrasi Bridge or the Devil, a structure characterized by an arcade with pointed arches dating from the second half of the twelfth century. A.D. and that is one of the most important and best preserved examples of Moorish architecture in the area. Then another 20 km up to the Tower Pandolfina an ancient watch tower of the twelfth century. falling in the territory of Sambuca di Sicilia. From here towards the main goal of the Natural Reserve of Monte Genuardo and Santa Maria del Bosco. A great walk in the reserve for about 4 km .. then move to the Trattoria Sambuca di Sicilia "U Sarracinu" to delight us with local appetizers, spaghetti and roasted mixed with asparaci selvateci .. all innafiato by a delicious Nero d'Avola . After lunch, stroll through the historic center of Sambuca among its treasures. Not content to stop at the bar and Judge Gulotta to taste the sweet typical sambucese "I minni of virgins" (virgin's womb) from the typical form of breast complete with nipple-based cream, pumpkin, and chocolate pieces and much more that remains a secret recipe dating back to 1725. After a good cup of coffee a day could only end with a trip to the Orange Lake with its beautiful views. So a day with all the trimmings! Pending the report .. good vision and do not forget to sign the guestbook if you have not already done so!
